Three hundred million US dollars is the global amount that the Angolan State intends to invest in the project to accelerate economic diversification “Diversifica Mais”, to be implemented over a period of six years, focusing on the Lobito corridor
The information was released yesterday, in Luanda, by the Secretary of State for Public Investment, Ivan Marques dos Santos, during the launch of the project, highlighting that around 40 million US dollars will be invested to improve the trade and growth of companies, especially led by women.
Another investment, in the order of 13 million USD, will be allocated to attract investment for the public-private partnership, especially in infrastructures of industrial development hubs and logistics platforms. Regarding access to financing and business training, it is expected to allocate 115 million USD.
According to the Secretary of State, the “Diversifica Mais” project is expected to have a direct impact on 12 thousand private companies, structure three productive infrastructures and facilitate 250 loans, of which 66 are aimed at micro, small and medium-sized companies. Ivan Marques dos Santos also witnessed the launch of the SOURCE platform that might help the Public Investment Program, as well as attract financing and private investment in the project portfolio.
The Angolan Executive launched the “Diversifica Mais” project, with the aim of increasing private investment and the resilient growth of micro, small and medium-sized companies in the non-oil value chain. According to the director of the “Diversifica Mais” project, Laércio Cândido, this action will be developed particularly in the Lobito corridor, through the improvement of the refutatory and institutional environment for commerce, creation and growth of companies, as well as financial services, especially those companies run by women.
In this context, he said, the project will also serve as a catalyst for public and private investments and, also, for productive infrastructure and the improvement of companies’ capabilities. Regarding the areas of action of the “Diversifica Mais” project, the support for the implementation of the National Development Plan 2023-2027 stands out, directly impacting the two fundamental pillars, namely food security and human capital.
