Executive issues decree to improve and optimize land freight transport in Paraguay

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Executive Branch promulgated the Decree 2,327/2024 which extends and modifies Decree No. 5791/2021 that created the Technical Committee for Land Cargo Transportation. The modifications made are aimed at improving and optimizing land cargo transportation in Paraguay, reported the National Directorate of Transportation.

The agency explained that the adjustments made to the regulations are adapted to the current needs of the sector, strengthening transport regulation for the country’s economy.

Among the main modifications of the new decree, the scope of the Freight Bill is expanded, indicating that corn grains are added to the products that must be transported with a Freight Bill, along with oilseeds and vegetable oils.

The extension of Article 2 of the regulations that incorporates new categories, such as Own Cargo Transporter, allowing for better classification in the sector.

The mandatory implementation of the Freight Bill, which reinforces the obligation to use the Freight Bill as an essential document for the transport of products, now also including corn grains.

The list of institutions and associations that make up this technical committee is also updated.
