The national leader blessed this group of athletes who are representing the Bolivarian tricolor. “They must know that they proudly represent one of the countries that has one of the most beautiful histories in all of America and of all the countries in the world.”
In this sense, he praised the athletes and reminded them that “they have a whole people watching them, following them and applauding them. When they reach the Olympics, it is like saying to life, as Pablo Neruda said, thank life for giving me so much.”
He urged athletes to continue to serve as examples for the children and young people who will succeed them in the future. “Those who practice sports fundamentally develop the habits of a healthy life at the service of society, so sport in itself is one of the best options that families have to guide their children,” said the head of state.
