With the objective of presenting the progress of the Ñuble Energy Demand Study – carried out by professionals from the Energy Center of the University of Chile, with the support of the University of Concepción -, the executing team held the presentation workshop: “Diagnosis interdisciplinary on enabling energy infrastructure for the promotion of industrial activity in the Ñuble Region”, in the premises of the Chillán UdeC Campus.
Seeking to obtain feedback from the actors involved (unions, electricity companies and the public and private sectors), the first findings of the Study were presented at the instance by the academics, Dasla Pando and Rodrigo Palma.
“This is our second participatory activity with local actors,” said Palma, to which he added that “we are trying to validate some findings and, also, to understand the projection of such findings.”
For his part, the Minister of Energy, Dennis Rivas, highlighted the study as one of “the fundamental pieces to achieve the goals and objectives that we have as a Ministry for Ñuble.”
In turn, academic Marcia Montedónico, who is looking at the perspective of energy consumption in the agricultural sector, pointed out that “we are generating an approach to the issue, from a multidimensional vision, with all the local actors linked, which has caused a wealth of perspectives that is very notable for this type of initiatives.”
