Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced, on Monday, the execution of a death sentence against a citizen and his sister in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, after they were found guilty of killing their father, mother and 2 of their brothers, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The ministry said in a statement: “Abdulaziz bin Fahd bin Ghazai Al-Harthy and his sister Ohood, both Saudi nationals, killed their father, their mother Fatima bint Hamad Al-Harthy, and their two brothers Abdullah and Abdul Rahman, by placing sleeping pills in the dinner meal of their mother and two of their two victims’ brothers,” according to the agency.
The ministry stated in its statement: “The next morning, they shot their brother Abdul Rahman while he was sleeping inside their house, then shot their brother Abdullah while he was sitting inside the house, entered their mother’s bedroom and shot her while she was sleeping, then they moved the bodies to a rest house that belonged to them, as they lured their father after that and shot him, then they poured gasoline and opened the gas and burned the rest house and the bodies in it,” according to the agency.
And the ministry added: “The security authorities were able to arrest the two aforementioned perpetrators, and the investigation with them resulted in them being charged with committing their crime, and by referring them to the competent court, a document was issued against them stating that they were found guilty of what was attributed to them, and because what they committed was a great crime and a heinous act, and it was in the face of deceit and deception, and in a manner in which the victims are safe from their misfortune, it was decided to kill them as an end to their killing of the victims, and the verdict was upheld From the Court of Appeal and from the Supreme Court, and a royal order was issued to enforce what was decided by law and was supported by its reference,” according to the statement.
The ministry concluded its statement by saying: “The death sentence was executed by the perpetrators, Abdulaziz bin Fahd bin Ghazai Al-Harthy, and his sister Ohoud, on Monday, 6/1/1445 AH, corresponding to 7/24/2023 AD, in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region,” according to (SPA).
