[Exclusive] Xiaomi Pad 5 India launch date revealed: Specifications and expected price

Xiaomi only confirmed the launch of the Xiaomi 12 Pro India on April 27, but it was teasing several products, without explicitly mentioning their marketing names. This will be the first tablet from the company to debut in India in a long time. We expect the Xiaomi Pad 5 to come with a stylus and keyboard accessories as well.

Xiaomi Pad 5 specifications

The tablet is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 processor with Adreno 640 GPU. It has 6GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The Xiaomi Pad 5 runs Android 11 with the custom MIUI 12.5 interface out of the box. It measures 254.69 x 166.25 x 6.85 mm and weighs 511 grams. There is a 8720 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.

Moving on to the optics, the Xiaomi Pad 5 has a 13MP snapper on the back and an 8MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats. The tablet is equipped with Dolby Atmos technology. USB Type C audio, and quad speakers. Connectivity features include 5G and 4G LTE (optional) dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB Type-C.

There is also a Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro variant that comes with it Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC paired with Adreno 650 GPU. The Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro Wi-Fi Edition comes with a 13MP primary camera and a 5MP depth sensor. While the 5G model features a 50MP primary sensor and a 5MP depth sensor. The device has an 8-megapixel front camera and an 8600 mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.

Xiaomi Pad 5 price in China starts from 1999 RMB (Rs 24,000) for the 6GB + 128GB Wi-Fi version and rises to 2,299 RMB (Rs 27,600) for the 6GB + 256GB Wi-Fi model. We expect the price of Xiaomi Pad 5 in India to be slightly cheaper than those in China.
