Coming from civil society – she was general secretary of Inter-Environnement – when Ecolo chose her in 2019 for the post of Minister of the Environment, Nature, Forests, Rurality and Animal Welfare in the Walloon government, Céline Tellier had never gone through the “election” box. And there was no guarantee that she would continue in politics at the end of her mandate. After careful consideration, she decided to take the plunge: she will be a candidate on the regional list in Walloon Brabant. Top of the list? Nothing will be official until the Ecolo regional assembly has validated the list at the end of December. “I wanted to confirm this commitment that I have had de facto for four years,” she explains to us. If she chose the regional level, it is because “it is the level which today has the most concrete levers to act on people’s daily lives, and in particular on environmental issues”.
