‘Final Fantasy 16 (FF16)’, which was first unveiled through the PS5 Showcase in 2020, will organize a state of play to organize various news that has been released so far and introduce the elements to fans.
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) will hold its own showcase, State of Play, centered on FF16 on the 14th (Korean time). State of Play is an online game introduction streaming event similar to the Nintendo Direct. In general, various games are introduced in a short time, but in the case of some large titles, detailed information regarding the game is introduced through a single event for a long time.
FF16 is Square Enix’s representative franchise and third-party title, but it is introduced as the main title of SIE’s showcase as an exclusive title during the PS5 period. In particular, as producer Naoki Yoshida mentioned PC directly in the presentation and announced that it would not be released on other platforms immediately following the exclusive period ended, it is expected that it will be a title that can only be played through PS5 for a long time.
On the other hand, the showcase of FF16 is held shortly before the release compared to ‘Horizon Forbidden West’ and ‘God of War Ragnarok’, which received great attention as Sony’s first party titles and held exclusive showcases. With only regarding 70 days left before the release, it is expected that detailed information regarding the game will be released through the showcase on this day, excluding separate promotions.
Square Enix held a preview for the FF16 media invitation in February, and the practical play received favorable reviews from the media of each country. Accordingly, the fun as a new world and action RPG is also gathering expectations.
The FF16 exclusive State of Play will be delivered on the 14th at 6 am on PlayStation’s official YouTube and Twitch channels. The game will be released worldwide on June 22 as a PS5 exclusive.
