Chris Jackson is a photographer for the British royal family who has been doing that work for 20 years. He is part of the Getty Images team and has been awarded several times as “Royal Photographer of the Year”; and he spoke exclusively with WEEK regarding his work, the royal family, his favorite characters and moments.

“It’s amazing to look back at certain moments and see how everyone in the royal family has changed and still document all that history,” says Jackson, of his long career alongside the most famous royals in the modern world.

Camilla, the queen consort

“I think the queen consort is definitely someone I’ve always enjoyed, I think she has a great sense of humor, something that I consider something really important and she has a lot of passions, things that she patronizes and enjoys, ”Jackson tells WEEK.

In addition, he says that the queen, who will also be crowned next Saturday, May 6, when the great event to honor Carlos III takes place in London, is an avid reader: “She is an avid reader and works hard to promote literacy of the kids”.

Jackson told WEEK that Camila enjoys a lot with her dogs, one of her passions: “At home in Gloucestershire I have taken many pictures with her rescue dogs, she is very passionate regarding these animals.”

The royal couple have two dogs, Bluebell and Beth, who frequently make appearances on royal social media. Both dogs were rescued by a foundation that Camila is a sponsor of.

The former Prince Carlos, soon to be King Carlos III, also has a great fondness for animals, especially chickens.

“They are some of my favorite photos of Prince Charles. He has won many prizes with these animals”; he tells that he feeds them in the morning and that the place where he keeps them has been open to the public for some years.

For Carlos III, it is a way to de-stress and he always looks for a way to return to his chickens between his trips, to feed them and monitor their condition.

“It’s important that they have these kinds of spaces and places where they can unwind and relax before going back to work,” Jackson says.

Regarding the coronation, he assures that he will enjoy the event very much, he will only regret not being able to be everywhere at the same time: ”It will all be happening at different events. Then, of course, we have the concert, and you can’t be everywhere at the same time, I can only choose certain places and certain times and although it can be frustrating to miss things, the good thing is that you know that you are part of a bigger team, ”he says.

The coronation will take place next Saturday, May 6, with coverage of WEEK.
