In the podcast with ex-football professional Arne Friedrich (44), the widow of actor Christian Oliver remembers the moment when she found out regarding the death of her ex-husband and her two daughters. Immediately following the shocking news, her boss drove her home, where she pushed her children’s beds together and lay down in them. “It was a day full of ‘never once more’. I will never be able to listen to music once more, I will never be able to sit by the ocean once more. We had done that many times with the children, it was our happy place. And now the ocean has my children killed,” said Klepser.

Jessica Klepser remembers the last phone call

The 49-year-old last saw her two daughters and her husband Christian on December 24, 2023. She took the three of them to the airport, but stayed in Los Angeles to work. “It was the first time that the girls didn’t celebrate New Year’s Eve with me,” remembers Jessica Klepser. “We spoke on Facetime on January 3rd and I said ‘I’m looking forward to seeing you’.” What the mother of two didn’t realize was that it would be her last conversation with her girls.

Some time following the loss, she invited her closest friends and their daughters to her home. Each of the girls was supposed to choose a cuddly toy from Madita and Annik, because the grieving mother wanted “them to continue to be loved.” And it is precisely this love that gives Jessica confidence today: “I can still feel the girls, they left so much love, it heals my heart.”
