Disclosure of Ermoso’s statement before the public prosecutor in the “Rubiales case”
A Spanish program revealed the testimony of the Spanish women’s national team player, Ginni Hermoso, in her case with the former Spanish Federation president, Luis Rubiales, because he kissed her following the World Cup final match.
The “Codeco 10” program on the “Telecnico” channel, Monday, exclusively showed Ermoso’s testimony before the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the “Rubiales case”, following the former president of the Spanish Football Federation kissed the player at the Women’s World Cup coronation ceremony.
The aforementioned media confirms that a 45-minute report before the public prosecutor, in which the player revealed full details of the moment of celebration in which Rubiales kissed her.
According to the aforementioned program, Ermoso said in front of the public prosecutor’s office: “They distorted my image, and I felt that no one protected me. I do not deserve to live all this. It was very difficult not to be able to leave the house.”
She added: “After the kiss, I tried to deal with the situation and continue to have fun with my teammates. I didn’t want to regret not enjoying that moment. It was very clear how I felt in that moment.”
She continued: “I was in the locker room and suddenly Lara Alvarez (one of her teammates in the national team) comes and tells me that the president of the federation wants me to leave. He actually started telling me that there was a lot of talk regarding the kiss. I told him that I knew what it was like and that it was not good.”
She added: “He tried to explain it to me once more and I told him that he did not have to do that. And that he would feel sorry for what happened. He told me that he wanted to say something to the girls. Inside the locker room, we did not realize the extent of the matter.”
When asked if the kiss was consensual, she responded firmly, “No, the kiss was not consensual. I felt disrespected. I was in shock. I never expected this to happen at any time.”
