O Apple TV+ has been putting into practice some actions aimed at publicizing its series of success “Slow Horses”whose fourth season had its last episode available in the service catalog on Wednesday (9/10).
As it has done with other productions, the platform made the first episode of the first season of the plot available free of charge. This time, however, in Full HD quality (1080p) in the form of a video on YouTube.

No more excuses. Watch now the first full episode of season 1 of Slow Horses no YouTube.
It’s a similar strategy to the one adopted for the first episode of “Silo”, last year. At the time, the platform chosen was X (formerly Twitter), which had added support for the publication of long videos by verified accounts.
Although it is not common to do so on third-party platforms, it is nothing new for Apple TV+ to make the first episode of its series available for free — a clear strategy by the company to attract new viewers.
Do you think it’s over?
Still talking about “Slow Horses”Apple has already released the trailer for its fifth season. As it will take some time for the series to return, however, fans will need to do some research to find the video (or see it in practice if they are already viewers).
As seen by 9to5Macthe trailer is hidden in the last episode of the fourth season, right after the last scene of the episode. It is not possible to find it among the trailers on the series page, nor on the Apple TV channel on YouTube.
Apple TV+ is available on the Apple TV app in more than 100 countries and regions, whether on iPhones, iPads, Apple TVs, Macs, smart TVs or online — in addition to being on devices such as Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast with Google TV, PlayStation and Xbox consoles. The service costs R$21.90 per monthwith a seven-day free trial period. For a limited time, anyone who purchases and activates a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac or iPod touch gets three months of Apple TV+. It is also part of the company’s subscription package, Apple One.

Apple TV+ Makes Splash with Free “Slow Horses” Episode and Season 5 Trailer
In a strategic move to entice new viewers and satisfy existing fans, Apple TV+ has made the first episode of its critically acclaimed series “Slow Horses” available for free on YouTube. This bold step not only highlights the platform’s commitment to promoting its flagship series but also showcases its willingness to experiment with unconventional marketing tactics.
The first episode of “Slow Horses” Season 1, viewable in full HD quality (1080p), is now live on YouTube, marking a departure from the platform’s typical practice of keeping its content exclusive to its own ecosystem. This move bears resemblance to a similar strategy employed by Apple TV+ last year, when it released the first episode of “Silo” on X (formerly Twitter). By sharing its content on third-party platforms, Apple TV+ is making a concerted effort to reach a broader audience and generate buzz around its series.
“Slow Horses” has consistently received rave reviews for its intriguing narrative, complex characters, and gripping plot twists. The series, which concluded its fourth season last week, has built a loyal fan base, and the free episode is likely to win over new viewers who may be curious about the show’s momentum. Furthermore, the decision to release the first episode on YouTube will allow Apple TV+ to gauge interest and potentially attract new subscribers to its platform.
While making the first episode of a series available for free is not an unconventional tactic in the streaming industry, Apple TV+ is taking a calculated risk by releasing it on YouTube, a platform with a vast user base and immense marketing potential. This move may also be seen as an attempt to stay ahead of competitors in the streaming wars, where platforms are constantly vying for attention and subscribers.
In a related development, the trailer for “Slow Horses” Season 5 has been hidden in the last episode of Season 4, awaiting discovery by eagle-eyed fans. Although it may take some digging to uncover the trailer, this Easter egg is a testament to the show’s dedication to its viewers and their enthusiasm for the series.
With the fifth season of ”Slow Horses” on the horizon, fans can expect more of the same gripping drama and intrigue that has made the show a staple of Apple TV+. The free episode on YouTube serves as an optimal enticement for new viewers to join the party, and existing fans can eagerly anticipate the next chapter in the series. Will Apple TV+’s bold strategy pay off? Only time will tell, but the streaming giant is undoubtedly pulling all the stops to cement its position as a premium content provider.
