Markus Lanz is one of the most famous and successful TV presenters in Germany. He grew up in a mountain farming family in South Tyrol and has German and Italian citizenship. He volunteered at Radio Hamburg, made his breakthrough as a presenter at RTL, and then later moved to ZDF.
Lanz has been on the air regularly with his nightly talk show since 2009 and has long stood for a certain questioning art. On the show he usually has three to four guests in the studio who he interviews and discusses with. Occasionally there is an overarching topic, but in most cases Lanz’s guests are interviewed about individual current topics.
