Markus Lanz is one of the most famous and successful TV presenters in Germany. He grew up in a mountain farming family in South Tyrol and has German and Italian citizenship. He volunteered at Radio Hamburg, made his breakthrough as a presenter at RTL, and then later moved to ZDF.

Lanz has been on the air regularly with his nightly talk show since 2009 and has long stood for a certain questioning art. On the show he usually has three to four guests in the studio who he interviews and discusses with.
