Benavides’ response came recently through a statement on Instagram, where he refuted the accusations and criticized the dissemination of the case by the media without solid foundations.
“This news was published irresponsibly (since it lacked foundations) by news portals and television programs where they practically demanded that I come out to speak,” he said.
“Despite the fact that my name and honor was tarnished, I remained silent because I consider that this is not an issue to be resolved on television or social networks. That said, I decided to deal with it through the relevant channel, the legal route, the appropriate one,” he added.
