The Croatian national team defeated the Netherlands in the semi-finals of the League of Nations – 4:2. The meeting took place in Rotterdam (Netherlands).
On 34 minutes, Donyell Malen put the hosts ahead. His goal was the only one in the first half. In the 55th minute, the Croats managed to bounce back thanks to Andrej Kramaric, who converted a penalty. In the 73rd minute, Mario Pasalic scored for the Croats, but the Dutch got away from defeat in regular time as Noah Lang equalized in the final minutes.
Croatian striker Bruno Petkovic, who came on as a substitute following regular time, scored a goal in the 98th minute. In the 116th minute, the Dutch defender Tyrell Malasia fouled in his penalty area, for which a penalty was awarded. Midfielder Luka Modric confidently shot into the right corner from the penalty spot. In the last seconds of the meeting, Bruno Petkovic scored the fifth goal of the Croats, but it was canceled by the VAR.
The Croatian national team reached the final of the League of Nations, where they will play with the winner of the match between the national teams of Spain and Italy. The losing team will play the Netherlands in the match for third place.
