Exciting Subway Series Showdown: Mets Triumph Over Yankees in 4-3 Thriller

NEW YORK — Brandon Nimmo ended the game in the tenth inning with a double, and the New York Mets overcame a series of errors to beat the New York Yankees 4-3 Wednesday night, with whom they split honors in a two-game Subway Series.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa stole home plate off a sloppy Brooks Raley. The Yankees scored two hitless runs to take a 3-1 lead into the seventh inning.

The Mets evened the score in the bottom half when Ron Marinaccio hit Nimmo with a pitch. Starling Marte hit an RBI single in a drive that ended when Nimmo rolled too wide at second and was pulled.

In the tenth inning, Venezuelan Eduardo Escobar was the automatic runner. Albert Abreu (2-2) struck out Mark Vientos before being relieved by Nick Ramirez.

Nimmo hit his drive to smash the ball into the wall in right-center field. Escobar ran home and slid in to give the Mets their second win in 11 games.

Dominic Leone (1-2) got his first win since joining the Mets last month.

For the Yankees, no Latin Americans hit.

For the Mets, the Dominican Marte 4-1 with an RBI. Puerto Rican Francisco Lindor 4-1 with a run scored. Venezuelans Francisco Álvarez 4-1 with a run scored, Escobar 4-0 with two runs scored.
