LOS ANGELES, October 4, 2023 (Xinhua) Three astronauts from NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) will carry out two walk missions outside the International Space Station this October to conduct scientific research and maintain the station, NASA announced. NASA astronaut Loral O’Hara is scheduled to participate. In the two missions on October 12 and 20, astronaut Andreas Mogensen from the European Space Agency will join her in the first mission, while NASA astronaut Yasmine Moghbeli will join her in the second mission. During the first walk mission on October 12, the two astronauts will emerge from an equation chamber. Pressure Quest on the space station to collect samples for analysis to see if there are microorganisms on the outside of the orbital complex. During the second walk on October 20, the two astronauts will complete the removal of a faulty electronics box, called a radio frequency array, from the station’s communications antenna.
