The registration of new members in the Dance Department of the Municipality of Patras for the dance season 2024-2025 has started and will last until Monday, September 30.
These apply exclusively to new members and not to those who participated in any of the Dance classes during the previous dance year (2023-2024). Registrations are only done online and through the page of the Dance Department.
The teaching of the new sections will begin on Monday, September 30, according to the detailed rehearsal schedule of the dance section for the halls in the port and Taraboura.
A new member of the Dance Department can be registered by anyone who wishes, aged 5 years and over, while registration, teaching and in general participation in the Dance Department’s activities is free (the Dance Department of the Municipality of Patras does not pay and no one is paid – both for the students as well as the teachers).
Important clarification on the difference between intensive sections and recreational sections:
The intensive classes are aimed at people aged up to 35 years and aim to prepare the participants for the performance classes.
It is twice a week and the exercise is strenuous and persistent. In two consecutive absences the person is deleted from the department.
The entertainment classes are usually attended by older people or people who just want to get in touch with folk dancing without more obligations. In these departments, someone is deleted for three absences. Here, too, training is governed by the rules that apply throughout the Dance.
