Terrible news from Kensington Palace. Princess Kate says in a statement that she was found to have cancer.
Rumors
Several sources had mentioned in recent weeks that Kate might want to reveal what was going on following her return to the spotlight, and tonight the time had finally come. Unfortunately, the princess had no good news to report.
Disease
In the video message – which was filmed in Windsor – Catherine says the news has come as a ‘huge shock’ to her and her family and that she and William have ‘done everything we can to process this privately’. She says they took the time to tell their children George, Charlotte and Louis. “As I told them, I am doing well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and soul. Having William by my side is also a great resource of comfort and reassurance. Just like the love, support and kindness shown by so many of you. It means so much to both of us.”
Kensington Palace has said it will not provide details regarding what type of cancer the princess has or what stage the cancer is at and has asked people not to speculate.
