MILTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — People of all ages packed the festival on Saturday. The president of the festival told Eyewitness News Saturday was the busiest day so far this year.

“Saturdays are always our biggest day,” president Cindy Hinkle said. “We live for Saturday.”

Thousands of people poured through the gates of the Pumpkin Festival to take part in the wide variety of activities the festival has to offer.

“I’ve just walked around looking at different vendors, seeing what kind of options there are, got a little bit of food and just seeing what all there is,” festival attendee Eva Meade said.

Today was Meade’s first time at the festival, and she was impressed.

“I would definitely come back next year if I had the opportunity,” Meade told Eyewitness News.

Although the festival isn’t over until Sunday, preparation for next year started regarding three months ago.

“We have a white board in the office,” Hinkle said. ” We’ve already started a list of what worked, what didn’t work, what we need to expand on. I have a list on my desk of things that need to be changed or added in. So, this is a year-round preparation for these four days.”
