The OneLoveSpiritHope community from the Huria Kristen Batak Protestan (HKBP) Pasar Rebo, Jakarta, officially launched the official registration page for the 2024 Batak Running event, Tuesday (30/7). The event, which will be held at QBIG, Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) City, Banten, on September 15, 2024, seeks to combine running and Batak culture.
Batak Berlari 2024 Committee Chairman SJ Dewantara Nababan said that his party is targeting two thousand runners to participate in enlivening the event. According to him, Batak Berlari 2024 is open to all groups of all ages, religions, and cultures.
Dewantara said, Batak Berlari 2024 has its own uniqueness compared to running events in general. Because, the event invites all participants to get to know Batak culture further by providing halal Batak food and Batak arts.
“So while running, we also get to know more about Batak arts, typical Batak halal food, and sports with a Batak nuance. So don’t be surprised later while running there will be Batak gondang music at KM 1, KM 2, and there will be many other Batak surprises,” he said at a press conference to launch Batak Berlari 2024 in Jakarta.
There are two running categories in the event, namely 2.5 KM and 5 KM. The event committee also invites groups with disabilities to join the event. Dewantara said that participants with wheelchairs or other assistive devices will be given assistance by runners provided by the committee.
To be able to participate in the activity, the public can register themselves through the page starting today with a registration fee of Rp275 thousand. The fee includes a donation of Rp25 thousand. However, participants can also make additional donations through the available channels.

Later, all donations collected will be distributed to HKBP District VIII Jakarta to support the HKBP Peduli Difabel program. Praeses HKBP District VIII DKI Jakarta, Rev. Bernard Manik said, Batak Berlari 2024 aims to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities. Meanwhile, Rev. Ressort HKBP Pasar Rebo, Rev. Dahlan Munthe hopes that the activity can inspire the community.
“That through sports we can be a blessing and show love for others,” he explained.
The 2024 Batak Running event itself was organized by HKBP Pasar Rebo in collaboration with Aktivin, a platform experienced in running events in Indonesia. Representative from Aktivin, Andrian Yulianto, said that in addition to participating directly at QBIC BSD City, participants can also participate in the 2024 Batak Running virtually.
He admitted that he was interested in collaborating with HKBP Pasar Rebo in organizing Batak Berlari 2024 because the activity was the first running event to be collaborated with cultural nuances. This uniqueness is believed to be able to attract more participants.
