Apple will present a series of new products next week, including new Macs with M4 chips. Apple CEO Greg Joswiak calls it an ‘exciting week of announcements’.
Apple officially confirmed tonight that it will present new products next week. Apple CEO of Marketing Greg Joswiak posted a teaser about the ‘exciting week of announcements’, which starts on Monday. “Mac your agenda“, Joswiak writes, referring to the new Macs that are expected.
Apple makes the announcements via press releases and these will often also include promotional videos. Next week, Apple will also hold an event in Los Angeles, where media can try out the new products. What new Apple products can you expect?
Apple is expected to release new versions of the MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac mini, all of which will be equipped with the new M4 chips. The entry-level model of the new 14-inch MacBook Pro would have 16 GB of RAM in addition to the M4 chip. The more expensive versions of the laptop get the M4 Pro and M4 Max chips. Furthermore, the new MacBook Pros look very similar to their predecessors.
iMac
The 24-inch iMac will probably also receive an upgrade to the M4 chip. Furthermore, the RAM of the basic model is expanded to 16 GB of RAM.
Mac mini
The biggest change would be for the Mac mini, which will see the biggest redesign in more than a decade. According to Bloomberg, the new computer is ‘much smaller than its predecessor’ and has a new housing. This makes the Mac mini more similar to the Apple TV set-top box. The new Mac mini would come with a choice of M4 and M4 Pro chips and the computer would have five USB-C ports.
Apple will also soon start production of a new MacBook Air with the M4 chip, but that laptop is not expected until early next year.
New accessories
For the first time in years, Apple is also releasing new versions of its Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad, according to Bloomberg. Those accessories will have a USB-C port instead of the Lightning port.

Interview with Tech Expert, Jane Smith
Editor: Thank you for joining us today, Jane. With Apple announcing new products next week, what are your thoughts on the anticipated launch of their new Macs?
Jane Smith: Thanks for having me! I think Apple is really making a statement with the new M4 chip. It’s a significant step up in power and efficiency, and it will likely enhance users’ overall experience, especially for those relying on their Macs for heavy tasks.
Editor: Great point! The MacBook Pro upgrades sound particularly exciting. Do you think the fact that they’re keeping the design similar to previous models is a missed opportunity, or is it more about maintaining brand continuity?
Jane Smith: It’s a double-edged sword. On one hand, consistent design language helps brand loyalty and gives users a familiar experience. On the other, there are many who crave innovation in design. Ultimately, if the performance enhancements are significant, most users will be satisfied regardless of aesthetics.
Editor: Fair enough! Now, what are your expectations for the redesigned Mac mini?
Jane Smith: The Mac mini’s redesign is generating a lot of buzz. Slimming it down while enhancing connectivity with multiple USB-C ports is a genius move. For creative professionals and home users alike, it promises not just power but also versatility in setup.
Editor: It truly is an exciting week ahead. Any final thoughts on the impact of these new accessories?
Jane Smith: Absolutely! The switch to USB-C is crucial. It modernizes Apple’s accessory line and aligns with industry standards, making life easier for users with multiple devices. It’s great to see Apple finally embracing this change!
Editor: Thank you, Jane! We can’t wait to see what Apple has in store for us next week. Stay tuned, everyone!
Editor: Thank you for joining us today, Jane! With Apple announcing new products next week, including the much-anticipated M4 chip, what do you think this means for their lineup?
Jane Smith: I appreciate you having me! The launch of the new M4 chips is a game changer. We’re looking at a significant boost in power and efficiency, which will be a big draw for professional users who rely on their Macs for demanding tasks like video editing and graphic design.
Editor: Absolutely! And it seems like they’re maintaining the familiar design of the MacBook Pro. Do you think that could be a missed opportunity for innovation?
Jane Smith: Not necessarily. Apple has created a strong brand identity around its core products, and many users appreciate that familiar aesthetic. However, I do think they could introduce a few fresh design elements or functionality upgrades to keep things exciting. The focus is clearly on performance with these new chips.
Editor: That’s a valid point. Now, what about the Mac mini’s redesign? It’s reportedly going to be significantly smaller and will even come with five USB-C ports.
Jane Smith: Yes, the Mac mini’s new look is quite intriguing! A smaller form factor is definitely in line with current trends toward minimalism and compact tech. The five USB-C ports are a fantastic addition, making it more versatile—it’s perfect for those who need to connect multiple devices.

Jane Smith: right? The shift to USB-C is a welcome move after years of being stuck with the Lightning port. USB-C is more universal across devices now, so it simplifies the user experience. It’s about time these accessories caught up!
