The Avenue Montaigne company has hit hard once more: all its business sectors experienced double-digit growth, except wines and spirits, in the red in the 2nd quarter (-8%). In the first half, revenue grew by 15% (17% excluding the currency effect) compared to the first half of 2022 (to 42.2 billion euros) and also by 17% compared to the first quarter of 2023. The operating margin lost 0.5 points to 27.4% ( once morest 27.9%).
The results published Tuesday evening following the close of European markets are in line with the exceptional performance signed by Bernard Arnault’s group for the year 2022. Sales had approached 80 billion euros (+ 23%) and profits reached 14 billion euros (+ 17%). This list had allowed the richest man in France to steal from Elon Musk the first place in the Forbes ranking of world fortunes, which he once more ceded to him on July 1.
