The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is examining the ex-wife of convict Saeful Bahri, Dona Berisa, regarding the bribery case for the replacement of members of the DPR with suspect and fugitive Harun Masiku today, July 18, 2024. Investigators believe there were obstacles in handling the case and plan to open the case. obstruction of justice.

“(The witness) is present, investigators are investigating the knowledge of HM’s (Harun Masiku) whereregardings and the opportunity to open a new investigation related to the alleged obstruction of justice,” said KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto in a written statement, Thursday, July 18, 2024.

Tessa was reluctant to detail the form of obstruction of investigation including the people suspected of being involved. According to her, the possibility is currently still just a guess.

The KPK also asked Dona to explain regarding Harun’s whereregardings. The full statement of Saeful Bahri’s ex-wife was reluctant to be detailed to maintain the confidentiality of the investigation process.

In the development of this case, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) searched the house of PDIP legal team member Donny Tri Istiqomah to search for evidence in the bribery case of fugitive Harun Masiku on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Four cell phones were said to have been confiscated by investigators.

“Taken from his house, Mr. Donny’s residence, there were cellphones, four cellphone communication devices were taken, two of which belonged to his wife,” said Donny’s attorney, Johanes Tobing at the KPK Supervisory Board Building, South Jakarta, Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

Johanes explained that the KPK team came to Donny’s house in the followingnoon. The cellphone confiscated by investigators did not belong to his client.

“So, the funny thing is that Mr. Donny’s cellphone was not confiscated. So, what was there was a tablet, and his wife’s cellphone,” said Johanes.

The KPK’s attitude is questioned. Because, investigators are targeting Donny’s wife’s cellphone which is believed to be unrelated to the bribery case of the replacement of interim (PAW) members of the DPR that ensnared Harun. (Z-7)
