Examination of 90,000 women in Sharqia as part of the presidential initiative to support maternal and fetal health

Dr. Hisham Masoud was announced as an agent Eastern Ministry of HealthThe medical teams of the Presidential Initiative to support maternal and fetal health have provided medical services and conducted examinations for 90,740 pregnant women, since its launch in Sharkia Governorate.

The Undersecretary indicated that the initiative aims to reach a generation of children who are healthy and free from diseases transmitted from the mother to the fetus, and to reduce deaths resulting from these diseases. The initiative targets pregnant women from the first day of pregnancy until birth, for early detection of various infectious diseases. Transmitted from the mother to the fetus, including HIV infection, hepatitis B disease, and syphilis, in addition to the detection of sugar and pressure for pregnant women, and measuring the body mass index to determine the appropriate nutritional program and maintaining the ideal weight during pregnancy and postpartum, adding that the Providing follow-up and treatment services through medical centers and health units in the governorate, and those who are discovered to be infected are directed and referred to receive the necessary evaluation and treatment in the referral hospitals specified in the governorate, according to the type of disease the mother has, in addition to activating and improving the quality of routine services they provide within the protocol for the care of pregnant women through care services Maternity and Childhood, noting that medical clinics and examination places are equipped and medical supplies are available, stressing the teams The medical examination places privacy, confidentiality of results, good treatment of women and a good reception for those attending the presidential initiative.

Masoud added that the presidential initiative to support maternal and fetal health targets the medical examination of 157,736 pregnant women, both Egyptian and non-Egyptian, in the cities and villages of Sharkia Governorate, in the age group above 18 years, between education, awareness and medical examination, through a trained medical team on examination work from “Doctors, nurses, data entry personnel, and rural pioneers”, where the number of teams is 358 medical teams, in a number of 358 points.
