Accordingly, the Hanoi People’s Committee approved the policy as proposed by the Department of Education and Training of Hanoi previously submitted, in which the method of enrollment into class 10 of public non-specialized high schools in 2023 is implemented. – 2024 includes 3 subjects: Math, Literature and Foreign Language (Candidates choose one of the languages: English, French, German, Japanese, Korean).

The city also requested the Hanoi Department of Education and Training to organize the entrance exam for grade 10 to ensure publicity, properly reflect the quality of teaching and learning, fight negativity, and avoid pressure on students.

Thus, for two consecutive years, this exam does not have a fourth subject. In previous years, the exam took place at the end of May or the beginning of June. Two exams in Math and Literature were written in the form of essays, and took 120 minutes each. For Foreign Languages, students take a multiple-choice test in 60 minutes.

The operating portal of the Hanoi People’s Committee previously held a survey to collect opinions from teachers to choose the option of taking 3 or 4 subjects to enroll in 10th grade of high school in the school year 2023 – 2024.
