The 5-0 win in the Mühlviertler derby against Bad Leonfelden was the second win in the third game under the 40-year-old German. A victory that was doubly special for Lenz: In the previous season he had stood on the opponent’s sideline, but had to leave after the autumn season. He opened a new chapter with his local rivals – with success.
A former ÖFB team player became the lucky charm in the derby: Viktoria Schnaderbeck, who also played the ball for the Bayern Munich women’s team, was captain of the Austrian women’s national team for nine years. On Saturday she led the honorary kick-off for match ball sponsor Dan-Küchen in Pregarten and, together with the Upper Austrian league team, also supported the Fair Play Action Weeks, which set an example against violence, sexism and hatred.
Zero number in the top game
There was no winner in the duel between second Mondsee and league leader Dietach. “You could see that both teams didn’t want to lose under any circumstances,” says Mondsee coach Thomas Plasser. “It was a competitive draw with one great chance on each side.”
