New start at Ford Germany: The US company is recruiting long-time Audi manager Martin Sander for the chief position in Germany.
The longtime Audi-Manager Martin Sander becomes the new boss of Ford Germany. In addition, the industry expert will be responsible for Ford’s entire passenger car business in Europe, as the group announced on Monday. The “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger” had previously reported on it.
Ford of Europe President Stuart Rowley emphasized that Sander brought “the dynamism, leadership and ideas that are important to accelerate the transformation of our car business in Europe and to enable our customers to create new connected experiences”.
Two previous management positions will be combined in Sander’s area of responsibility. This underscores Ford’s commitment to advance the electrification of its European product range even faster, the company emphasized.
Employed at Volkswagen for a long time
Sander will start his new role on June 1st and will have his office in Cologne. The manager, who was born in Hildesheim, studied mechanical engineering and graduated from the Technical University of Braunschweig with a degree in engineering.
He then worked for Volkswagen for many years at home and abroad 
-Group – most recently as Senior Vice President of Sales for Europe at Audi AG. He currently lives in Ingolstadt, is married and has two children.
