The prosecutor of the Republic of Besançon, Etienne Manteaux, told AFP on Monday, August 5, that the former anesthetist Frédéric Péchier was detained for 30 years in a Besançon clinic. The poisoning of 12 patients, 12 of whom died, was referred to the Assizes of the Douban Province.
The 369-page document summarizing more than seven years of investigation and the charges against 52-year-old Mr Pageye was signed by two investigating judges in the Circuit Court on Monday. He faces life in prison, according to Besançon prosecutors.

Dazzling documents

Philip Cohen, a lawyer for the anesthetists union Snarf, a civil party in the case, said he was awaiting trial and believed “The prosecutors did a very thorough job justifying the fact that all of these documents were reviewed in circuit court.”. The prosecutor said the defense now has ten days to object to the transfer, but he could not give a specific date for the trial.
