When Danielle Prior spotted a ‘shiny white ring’ inside her daughter’s eye following taking a photo of her with her iPhone, she at first thought it was a reflection flash.

But when the same bright circle kept appearing consistently in her right eye in photos, the 30-year-old mother, who lives with her daughter in England, panicked and made an emergency appointment.

Tests showed that the white ring was actually a warning sign.

Little Evie, only 11 months old, had retinoblastoma, a rare cancer of the retina.

“I cried for days and mightn’t sleep, but of course Evie was strong, happy and resilient herself,” the mother told The Sun.

The girl was treated at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, where she underwent intra-arterial chemotherapy.

Danielle started sharing her daughter’s journey on her page Instagram to connect with other parents whose children have retinoblastoma.

“Our life is no longer the same. We are constantly in the hospital and Evie is asleep at least twice a month. I am struggling financially, but I try to make her life as beautiful as possible and to make sure that she does not miss anything, ”she explains.

Danielle hopes Evie’s cancer will stabilize following treatment, as once she turns six it’s unlikely to become reactive once more.

Her worst fear is that Evie will lose her eye, because she knows how cruel people can be.

However, she will take this decision without hesitation if she has no choice, because she does not want to put her life in danger.

“If Evie’s cancer escapes from the optic nerve, we will have no choice but to remove it. For now, it’s contained in the eye,” she said.
