According to a report by CNN, a senior Ukrainian Defense Ministry official revealed that authorities and special forces have confirmed that the international mercenary organization “Wagner Group” (Wagner Group) is suspected of assassinating Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (Volodymyr Zelensky) ) and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, expected to exchange documents and evidence with the International Court of Justice.
According to reports, Russia’s mercenary organization “Wagner Group” first emerged during Russia’s invasion of Udong in 2014, and has strongholds in many countries around the world. It is reported that the group is funded by Yevgeny Prigozhin, an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, but Prigozhin and the Kremlin have denied the matter. Since the war started at the end of February this year, it has been reported that a large number of armed people have been assisting Russia.
Markian Lubkivskyi, an adviser to the Ukrainian defense minister, said the group had tried to assassinate Zelensky and Smichal, as confirmed by intelligence services and special forces protecting the president.
Lubkovsky also pointed out that the mercenary group sent several mercenaries into Uzbekistan, and the targets were indeed the president and prime minister, but the assassination was unsuccessful. All relevant documents and evidence will be submitted to the International Court of Justice, so no further information can be disclosed at this time.
