His close friend Ivan Marchenko spoke regarding the tragic death of Evgeny Shumilov.
“Friends, with deep sadness I want to inform you that on April 30, my close friend Evgeniy Shumilov died at the front, defending a wounded brother-in-arms. Evgeniy was a theater and film actor, two years ago he mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and faithfully served and defended Ukraine,” it says in a man’s Facebook post.
The soldier’s comrade added that he will forever remain in his heart – cheerful, positive, cheerful and real.
“Eugene has a disabled mother and stepfather, so those who care can help – I’ll leave a link to the jar in bio. All information regarding farewell will be in due course. Rest in peace, friend, we love you and hope that you are in a better place now. Slava Hero of Ukraine!” – summed up Shumilov’s friend.

Director Antonio Lukic, who worked with the soldier on the set of the commercial, also responded to the tragic news.
“Evgeny Shumilov died. An actor and a warrior. I had the honor of working with him on the set, where he looked into the future so poignantly and with such hope… Thank you, Zhenya, blessed memory…,” the message says.

Life and achievements of Evgeny Shumilov
Evgeniy Shumilov studied at Kyiv secondary school No. 306, following which in 2014 he graduated from the Kiev National University of Theater, Film and Television named following Karpenko-Kary.

He played in theater plays and starred in TV series. Among the projects in which he participated are the following:
- “Physical Evidence”
- “Real mysticism”
- “Sydorenko-Sydorenko”
- “Ambulance”
- “Agents of Justice”
- “Department 44” etc.
The young actor also took part in the filming of an advertisement for Nova Poshta.
At the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Shumilov mobilized into the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Served as a company medic – 3rd company of the 1st mechanized battalion of the 3rd Special Operations Brigade.
