While we are several months away from its presentation, the iPhone 15 has already revealed many of its secrets through various leaks. So here’s everything we think we know regarding Apple’s next smartphone.
A new variation
This year once more, Apple should offer us 4 versions of the iPhone 15but there may well be a change in the appointment.
- We would thus find the great bipartition of standard and ultra high-end models, with the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus et the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Maxunless the latter comes under a new name.
- Rumor has it that Apple is proposing a new name for its most high-end model. The latter might indeed inherit the same nomenclature as the new connected watch model, theApple Watch Ultraand would thus be called theiPhone 15 Ultra.
By proceeding in this way, the Cupertino company would ensure widen the gap between standard, premium and ultra-premium models. A strategy already initiated last year since the iPhone 14 Pro Max benefited from a better photo module with greater magnification at the telephoto end and better stabilization for the wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle sensor.
Rising prices
This desire to widen the gap would also be reflected in the price.
- Rumor has it that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone Ultra will benefit froma processor engraved in 3 nm. A more expensive etching process that would offer the main benefit to improve autonomy and which would be passed on to the price of the devices.
For the time being, it is not yet known how much the top-of-the-range models would be increased. Other changes and improvements made might also increase the rating.
The iPhone 15, the first to benefit from a USB-C port?
Apple plans to comply with the requirements of the European Union by replacing its Lightning port with the “universal” port chosen by the EU. The company confirmed itbut it might begin this revolution as early as this year.
- The bowels of the iPhone would therefore be reviewed, both on the standard and premium models, enough to add work to the engineers.
- This change, which might be exclusive to models intended for the European market, might thus affect their price.
- Unless Apple thumbs its nose at the EU and delivers a completely portless smartphone.
Disappearance of pimples
A project that would also imply the absence of buttons, in order to have a 100% waterproof device. An aspect that might materialize this year.
- Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo think that at least one version of the iPhone 15 would be devoid of physical buttons.
- They would be replaced by tactile spaces associated with haptic feedback.
To stay on the design, there is also talk that Apple will integrate titanium on the iPhone Ultra, in order to make it more resistant, which, once once more, would be felt at the price level.
Dynamic iPhone 15 and 15 Plus
The notch reviewed and corrected last year on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max would make its debut on standard models this year.
- Apple has, it seems, succeeded in having this “pill” design of the notch accepted, thanks to its Dynamic Island software layer which exploits this new format particularly well and would therefore like to deploy it across the entire range. .
Finally, when it comes to the features of the phones, not much is known, except that they will certainly be improved.
- The iPhone 15 Pro and Ultra would thus benefit from a new generation processor, namely an A17 Bionic engraved in 3 nm, while the 15 and 15 Plus models would ship last year’s version, the A16 Bionic.
- The photo part would also be improved, through a periscope photo sensor, especially for premium models once once more.
We will obviously have to wait until September to find out the official characteristics of the iPhone 15. In the meantime, new leaks and rumors should still reach us.
