The role is considered the best in the artist’s career.
Vladimir Vysotsky earned people’s love thanks to his original songs, as well as his acting in the films “Vertical” and “The meeting place cannot be changed.” But not all of the actor’s roles are known to the general public. For the sake of some, he changed beyond recognition.
In 1973, director Joseph Kheifits accomplished the feat. He released the film “Bad Good Man,” in which he starred two “banned” artists. The first of them is Oleg Dal, whom Lenfilm considered persona non grata. The second is Vysotsky, who has already greatly annoyed the Soviet authorities.
The musician played the Nietzschean scientist von Koren. Critics would later call the role the best in the star’s career. Make-up artists put a lot of effort into the celebrity’s appearance. He was turned into a modest intellectual with gold-plated glasses and a characteristic boomerang mustache. Not at all the Vysotsky to whom millions of viewers are accustomed.
