Humira Asghar, who started her acting journey from theatre, says that every artist should act on theater before acting on any medium as there is a lot of opportunity to learn.
According to Humira, she has participated in more than 40 theater plays. She said that she expressed her wish to her mother that since all her studies were in arts, she should be allowed to model.
‘Even though I was overweight at the time, my mother allowed me to model. He said, “If you have to do it, do it for two years so that if I give permission, the people around will not make fun of me and say that their daughter does not have a model dress or size.” Mother supported me a lot in everything.’
Humira Asghar has started working in television from Karachi about two years ago.
He says, ‘All my family are doctors. Amma said at the very beginning that they are all doctors, what should I talk to your father about modeling. But considering my passion, I was allowed. At first, father was a little angry for being late, but when he saw that I am very good in studies and work hard, he was very happy.

He got a lot of recognition from Pakistan’s reality show ‘Tamasha’. She said that she had gone there only to play, she also raised her voice on some sensitive issues, one of which was the issue of respect for women.
Some time ago, Humira Asghar’s name came up in the case of the fire on the Margalla hills, but people on social media were likening her to a tic-talker, which she was not.
‘People only knew my name and not my face, I had not come to Islamabad for so long and had nothing to do with this matter. I was very disappointed by the whole incident.’
She believes that the reason why dramas like ‘Aangan Tedha’ and ‘Unkahi’ are not made nowadays is due to lack of time.
Artist Humira Asghar believes that ‘artists want to do works in which women’s characters are shown to be strong and not to always portray them as damsels in distress.’
