Although announced more than four years ago, Everwild, Rare’s new game, is still just as mysterious. The game was last shown in September 2020, in a video in which Louise O’Connor, the producer and executive, and Ryan Stevenson, the artistic director, went over the fundamentals of the title. Finally, it was in 2021 that news began to worry players, since we learned that the game had been rebooted, thus internally pushing back its release period.
Everwild seems to still be alive!
In 2021, Matt Booty spoke regarding the studio’s next production to reassure fans. The project then made headlines in 2022, the occasion to learn that it would be a “large-scale multiplayer world”.
Finally, it was last June that Andy Robinson, journalist at VGC, revealed that the title would be closer to a Viva Piñata than to a survival game as the trailers suggested.
As Sea of Thieves continues to shine and prepares to enter its sixth year, many fans of the studio’s productions are wondering regarding the enigmatic Everwild, even wondering if it has not been canceled.
However, a few days ago, Rare wanted to wish its community of players happy holidays. For this, the developer accompanied a fun text with an image incorporating elements from Sea of Thieves, but also from Everwild, which strongly suggests that the project is indeed alive!
Let’s hope that it will appear soon, in order to reassure the players, but above all to know what it consists of! Everwild is planned for Xbox Series X|S and PC, and should obviously be available on release day in Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Right, we’re clocking out for 2023. Stay warm and well-fed you crazy kids, we left some Jaffa Cakes in the cupboard if you get peckish. And please don’t draw doodles of Sabrewulf in swimwear all over the walls once more like last year, it was disconcerting to come back to. BUH BYE ! pic.twitter.com/LDJZ64cfEL
