Raw emotion and spectacle. After three years of interruption, Rambrouch was finally able to reconnect with the “Mähdreschercross”, an international race of combine harvesters which welcomed, this Sunday afternoon, nearly 6,000 people, according to the organizers.

“We quickly have a huge moment,” enthuses Jean-Luc, the announcer for the 16 races on offer. “The atmosphere is magnificent, the drivers are on top and the weather is there. What more? Everyone is smiling and it’s really nice. It’s a lot of preparation work, but when the public is there, it’s easy, you forget everything. Commenting on the race is not easy, because there is a lot of movement on the track. We are really living a unique moment in Luxembourg”.

Safety is not forgotten

Coming from Bastogne, from nearby Belgium, Florent did not want to miss it. “I work in agriculture and it’s really a moment not to be missed in the agricultural world”, he tells us. “It’s the first time I’ve come. There’s good beer, music and lots of fun. It makes you want to participate in the race. There is speed and it is really impressive”.

And in terms of the safety of drivers and spectators, nothing is left to chance. We are there to intervene as soon as something happens on the circuit”, specifies Ludwig, president of Motorsport Rettungsteam Lëtzebuerg. “When a vehicle has a problem or when there is a rollover on the track. We haven’t noticed any serious accidents, so everything is going well. The show is really superb and it’s nice to see the spectators come back in droves for this family event.
