Paris: Superstar Lionel Messi came as a savior for PSG following making Argentina the winner in the World Cup. PSG defeated Lille 4 goals to 3 thanks to Messi’s free kick goal in extra time of the match. Players including Neymar Mbappe scored goals in the match but it was Messi’s last minute goal that secured PSG’s victory.
In the 11th minute of the match, Kylian Mbappe opened the net for the opponents. Neymar also increased PSG’s lead in the 17th minute. But with an ankle injury, Neymar had to leave the field. Lille got the first goal back in the 24th minute through Diaketa. Jonathan David scored once more for Lille following taking advantage of a penalty in the 58th minute following the first leg of the game.
Lille took the lead once more in the 69th minute through Jonathan Bamba. PSG players’ attempt to fight back resulted in a goal scored from Mbappe’s boot in the 87th minute. With that, Mbappe secured a double goal. But it was a free kick goal scored by Messi in the injury time of the game that helped PSG to equalize.
