Even though the curtain has fallen, Heard and Depp are in court again

Despite the victory of the Hollywood star Johnny Depp once morest his ex-wife, Amber Heard, in a defamation lawsuit, but the case appears to be far from over.

Heard told a Virginia court on Thursday that she will appeal a $10.35 million order for her ex-husband.

Her lawyers filed a notice of appeal in Fairfax County Court, where the court heard for six weeks the testimony of the former spouses.

The notification will also inform the court that Heard intends to appeal this ruling and other rulings issued by the judge, including the refusal of Heard’s request to set aside the ruling, as well as the refusal of the request for a retrial.

A Heard spokesman said in a statement, that the court made mistakes that prevented a fair and equitable ruling, so the decision to appeal the ruling came, according to the Associated Press.

The most famous defamation case!

It is reported that Depp was suing Heard for defamation in Virginia during an opinion piece she wrote in December 2018 in the “Washington Post” that described herself as a “public figure representing domestic violence.”

His lawyers said the article had defamed him even though he never mentioned his name.

Although the jury sided with Depp, Heard also received $2 million for claiming that one of Depp’s lawyers had slandered her reputation, and she filed counterclaims.

A jury ordered Heard to pay $10 million in damages to Depp and $5 million in punitive damages.
