THE HEAD of the United Kingdom, King Charles III, will resume a number of his state duties starting doctors’ week following a team of palace doctors said they were very satisfied with progress in his cancer treatment.
King Charles III’s first task was to visit a cancer treatment center, with his wife, Queen Camilla, Tuesday (30/4).
The British Royal Couple will then host Emperor Naruhito and his wife Masako who will be on a state visit next June.
The announcement came following the British Royal family received two bad news in a row with Charles, 75, and his daughter-in-law, Catherine, 42, revealing they both had cancer.
Catherine, wife of crown prince Prince William, made the announcement that she was undergoing chemotherapy last month via a video on social media.
Announcing King Charles III’s return to state duties, a spokesman for Buckingham Palace, said it was too early to know when the British monarch’s treatment would end.
However, he underlined that the team of doctors was very satisfied with the progress achieved and were optimistic regarding the chances of King Charles III’s recovery. (AFP/Z-1)
