Before retiring (the new generation ofAudi A4 being planned for 2023), the RS4 takes its sportiness up a notch with a new competition pack, or even two since there is a standard pack and a “plus” pack.
On the standard version, the maximum speed of the 443 hp twin-turbo V6 is raised to 290 km/h. The RS4 receives a new exhaust line (with matte black outlets), which promises a more intense sound, also obtained by new insulation between the engine compartment and the passenger compartment (which also saves 8 kg). Gear changes are also quicker in S mode with Dynamic Drive Selection activated.
The other important change is integrated into the “plus” version: the RS Sport Suspension Pro air suspension, a piloted suspension with manual adjustment. When leaving the factory, the RS4 has a ride height lowered by 10 mm compared to the classic RS4. Customers can manually lower this ride height by another 10mm.
Audi also indicates that the behavior is more agile and more precise with “a higher spring rate, adjustable shock absorbers on three levels and stiffer stabilizers”. The plus version is also equipped with the quattro sport differential. New data in the control unit with modified settings allow more agility at the rear.
The RS4 can be fitted with Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires, mounted on 20-inch rims. With these tyres, new ABS software and ceramic braking, the braking distance from 100 to 0 km/h has been shortened by two metres.
On the look side, there is for the first time on the RS4 the Black Sebring finish with crystal effect. The rims are available in black. Elements can be in matt carbon or shiny carbon (exterior mirrors, front blade, side inserts, diffuser…). On board, there is leather and microfiber upholstery with a honeycomb pattern. The side panels of the seats are in gloss black. Black belts have a red outline. The Alcantara steering wheel has red stitching.
The prices of these packs for France are not yet known. Note that these packs are available in Germany on the RS5.
