India champions qualified for the semi-finals of the World Championship of Legends 2024. India qualified for the semi-finals following losing to the South African champions in the previous match and remaining in the top four on the points table.

In another match held yesterday, India entered the semi-finals as the third-placed team following champions Australia defeated champions West Indies.

India lost by 54 runs in the match once morest the Proteas. Chasing the target of 211 runs set by South Africa, India managed to score only 156 runs for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated over.

After losing the toss and batting in the match, South Africa reached the best score on the strength of half-centuries by Jacques Snyman and wicket-keeper batsman Richard Levy. Snyman scored 73 runs off 43 balls. The star’s best strike rate was 169.77 including ten fours and three sixes.

Richard Levy scored 60 runs off 25 balls. There were five sixes and fours each in the player’s innings. The Proteas superstar’s performance was at a blistering strike rate of 240.00.

Apart from them, opener Ryan McClaren (20 off 13 balls) and captain Jacques Kallis (17 off 12 balls) also smashed South Africa’s innings at 210 for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated over.

Harbhajan Singh won the forfer for India. Turbanator took four wickets conceding just 25 runs in four overs. Harbhajan took the wickets of McClaren, Richard Levy, Rory Kleinveldt and Dane Vilas.

Apart from Harbhajan, Yusuf Pathan, Pawan Negi, Vani Kumar and Dhawal Kulkarni took one wicket each.
