Eveline van den Bent was very involved with the royal family for many years. She started as a nanny in the family of Willem-Alexander (57) and Máxima (53) and then became a confidante of Princess Amalia (20). Remarkably, she has recently stopped working for the family. The RVD confirms this. The reason is not disclosed. Our royalty expert Annemarie de Kunder talks about the special bond between the two and Eveline’s sudden departure.

“She is always ready”

Eveline joined the Royal House in 2006. Initially as a nanny to the princesses. She then became the royal couple’s personal assistant. In 2020, she was appointed private secretary and played an important role in the life of Crown Princess Amalia as a confidant. In addition, she always continued to work for the other two princesses, Alexia and Ariane.

During official affairs she was always close to the Crown Princess. This is how she wore her coat and took her things during King’s Day. She also helped Amalia during working visits where necessary, for example during the tour of the Caribbean islands two years ago. Annemarie: “I saw with my own eyes how involved Eveline was. Everywhere Amalia went, Eveline stood behind her. Like a mother, she kept an eye on Amalia.” Annemarie also says that Eveline had a good sense of when the media attention became too much for her. “She was the driving force behind Amalia during this journey.”

In the book that Claudia de Breij wrote about Amalia, the crown princess confirms that Eveline played an important role in her life. “She is always ready.” Amalia also says in the book that Eveline knows her inside and out. “She sees what I don’t like, she sees when I’m tired of a photo shoot.”

“In recent years, Amalia and Eveline have grown even closer to each other,” says Annemarie. Eveline was a great support to Amalia when she was seriously threatened and was therefore forced to stay in Spain. “Eveline was always there for her during this difficult period,” says Annemarie. She regularly visited Amalia in Spain. For example, a photo of the two together on a terrace surfaced at the time.

All in all, Eveline was very involved in caring for the princess and organizing the family’s private agenda. Until now. There were rumors for some time that Eveline was no longer working for the royal family and the RVD has now confirmed this. However, they do not give a reason for her departure. It is therefore still unclear why Eveline stopped working after years, while her bond with Amalia was so close.

Annemarie calls it ‘striking’ that Eveline has suddenly left. “In addition to the good relationship they have, it would workwise would also be logical if she had stayed.” Annemarie explains that Amalia will focus more on royal duties in the coming years and it is therefore important that she has ‘good people’ around her. “Eveline would have been the perfect person to appoint Amalia to guide you in this.”

Amalia is currently studying in Amsterdam again. She has already appeared in public a number of times this year and made a good impression. You can watch the video below.

Royal Drama: A Nanny’s Departure and the Mystery Behind It!

Ah, the Dutch Royal Family—where drama isn’t just confined to soap operas but seeps right into royal corridors! Here’s the latest: Eveline van den Bent, the nanny turned confidante, has left the royal fold. Not just any nanny, mind you! We’re talking about the woman who played a pivotal role in Crown Princess Amalia’s life, like a real-life Mary Poppins but without the catchy songs (and perhaps with a slightly larger dose of lifetime royal confidentiality).

“She is always ready.”

And it seems she was always ready to step in during some rather intriguing family moments. Since 2006, Eveline has been part of the royal mix. From wrangling little princesses to keeping an eye on Amalia during official outings and daunting photo shoots, she was practically glued to the princess’s side—like a supporting character in an epic coming-of-age royal story. So why the sudden exit? It’s a question that shrouds this tale in a bit of mystery. The Royal Dutch House refused to divulge any reasons—because why would they? It’s not like a royal family ever has a secret! Oh wait…

Now, our royalty expert Annemarie de Kunder has added her own two cents, remarking on the special bond between Eveline and Amalia. The departure is described as “striking”—well, striking like that infamous picture of King Willem-Alexander accidentally getting caught in a windstorm in his kilt. You’d think they would’ve had ways to keep even a nanny close during a royal transformation into a working princess, no?

Eveline has been much more than just a nanny. She was the private secretary for the royal couple and had a pivotal role in guiding our favorite crown princess through the tumultuous waters of royal life—like the “life coach” but with a royal flair. It’s reported that Amalia even relied on her during some less-than-great moments, like when she was forced to hide away in Spain due to threats. A true friend in times of crisis.

What’s curious, though, is the timing of Eveline’s departure. With Amalia gearing up to tackle more royal duties, you’d think having Eveline for support would be essential. I mean, who else is going to make sure the tiara is perfectly straight while giving a royal wave? If you can’t rely on the person who knows you inside out—who indeed can you rely on? A royal cousin from a distant country? Oh, sweet subtitles of history!

Amalia is back studying in Amsterdam now, back in the public eye, and seemingly doing well. She even made a splash at a few events this year—so at least the throne has not been toppled just yet! But this change in the royal staff makes one wonder: does the royal family actually have a twist in their plot to keep us all guessing? If anything, this has all the elements of a gripping royal drama, and I dare say, there’s probably more to this story than meets the eye.

As we wait for more details to trickle out, let’s keep our eyes peeled for any signs of Eveline in the future. After all, every royal story could use an unexpected twist—or perhaps a cheeky spin-off series. Until then, we’ll just have to settle for the news of who wore the best cloak at the most recent event. Stay tuned!

Eveline van den Bent has had a profound impact on the Dutch royal family over the years, beginning her journey with them as a devoted nanny in the home of King Willem-Alexander (57) and Queen Máxima (53). As time went on, her role evolved significantly; she became a trusted confidante to Crown Princess Amalia (20). In a surprising turn of events, Eveline has recently concluded her employment with the royal family, a fact confirmed by the Royal House (RVD). However, the reasons behind this unexpected departure remain undisclosed.

Eveline joined the Royal House in 2006, stepping in initially as a nanny for the princesses. Her dedication and reliability led her to transition into a personal assistant role for the royal couple, and by 2020, she held the esteemed title of private secretary. Throughout her tenure, Eveline was instrumental in shaping Crown Princess Amalia’s formative years, acting as a confidante while also extending her support to Princesses Alexia and Ariane.

Throughout official engagements, Eveline was an unwavering presence beside the Crown Princess. For example, during King’s Day celebrations, she assisted by helping with Amalia’s coat and carrying her belongings. Additionally, Eveline was actively involved in Amalia’s working visits, notably during the Caribbean tour two years ago. Royalty expert Annemarie de Kunder noted, “I saw with my own eyes how involved Eveline was. Everywhere Amalia went, Eveline stood behind her. Like a mother, she kept an eye on Amalia.” Moreover, Eveline possessed an innate ability to gauge when media attention became overwhelming for the princess, proving to be a crucial source of support during such times.

In Claudia de Breij’s book about Amalia, the Crown Princess herself attests to Eveline’s significant influence in her life, exclaiming, “She is always ready.” Amalia elaborates on the depth of their relationship, noting, “She sees what I don’t like, she sees when I’m tired of a photo shoot.” This bond has only grown stronger over the years, especially when Amalia faced serious threats that forced her to take refuge in Spain. During this challenging time, Eveline provided steadfast support by regularly visiting her in Spain, with a photograph of the duo captured on a terrace making headlines.

Until now, Eveline has been deeply involved in caring for the Crown Princess while also managing the royal family’s private schedule. Speculation surrounding her departure had circulated for some time, and the RVD has now confirmed her exit without offering any justification. This sudden shift prompts questions about the future dynamics of Amalia’s circle, particularly given the tight-knit relationship they shared.

According to Annemarie, the abrupt nature of Eveline’s departure is “striking.” She argues that given their close relationship, retaining Eveline would have made perfect sense, especially as Amalia prepares to undertake more royal duties in the upcoming years. “Eveline would have been the perfect person to guide Amalia through this transition,” she stated.

Currently, Amalia is resuming her studies in Amsterdam and has made several public appearances this year, greatly impressing observers with her poise and confidence.
