Eve introduces $ 250 HomeKit-enabled outdoor camera

Home automation accessories manufacturer Eve today presented a new outdoor camera: the Eve Outdoor Cam. It comes with a projector and works with HomeKit Secure Video. The device can detect presence and shoot in 1080p (24fps / H.264) with a 157 ° field of view.

The device has an IP55 degree of protection (resistance to water and dust) and its design is reminiscent of the camera Presence by Netatmo. Unlike the latter, the camera does not embed a siren but has an integrated microphone and speaker. She knows the difference between an animal, a parcel deliverer and a vehicle and can send you notifications when she detects something.

The manufacturer notes that live footage never reaches the cloud: thanks to HomeKit Secure Video, only recordings are stored securely and fully encrypted in the owner’s iCloud account for 10 days. As it is a HomeKit device, it can be used through the Home application or through the Eve app. The product is on display right now at CES in Las Vegas and will be available from April 5, 2022, from Eve, Amazon, and later from Apple for $ 249.95.

The manufacturer has also marketed its Eve MotionBlinds connected awning motors. These are HomeKit compatible and Matter but still have a manual pull tab. The blinds are powered by a rechargeable USB-C motor and can be found today at retailers: in Europe, these are OmniaBlinds, Sonevo and Smartblinds.
