Eve Energy connected socket test: the current flows with Apple Homekit

To activate the Eve Energy, you must of course plug it into a mains socket. This socket works in Bluetooth during pairing and in Wi-Fi once it is connected to a hub – which we will see in a second step.

To connect the socket, you must first download the Eve application. Then, said application asks to take a picture of the QR Code placed on the side of the Eve Energy, while it is plugged in. We saw more practical since we had to contort ourselves to succeed in taking a photo of this QR Code. Once captured, it only takes a few seconds for the application to recognize the capture.

Note that once in the Eve application, you are asked to connect to a concentrator. Indeed, the Eve Energy only works with Apple Homekit, it is essential to connect to a Homepod, an Apple TV system or an iPad to control its accessory remotely, but also to create multiple scenarios. You will also have to overcome this pitfall to control your equipment by voice with Siri.

The connection to the HomePod or Apple TV type hub is done automatically. You just have to check that you are logged in with the same iCloud credentials for the HomeKit accessories and the HomePod.

It is quite possible to obtain the Eve Energy bulb without a hub, but beware, in this case, the functionalities are very limited. It will simply be possible to turn your equipment on or off over a short distance.
