Corruption has always been an issue for Eva Kaili. In 2011, when Greece was struggling to remain in the eurozone, Kaili, then one of the youngest members of the Greek parliament, struggled against the image of Greeks in the rest of Europe. The people in Greece are lazy, they are born tax evaders – these are all prejudices, Kaili said in an interview with an online portal. So all wrong. Instead, her country’s problems have to do with the political system in Greece, especially with corrupt politicians.
