Coops hard for Eva Kaili. Already detained for 10 weeks, the Greek MEP will remain in Haren prison. The Brussels council chamber decided on Thursday evening to keep him in preventive detention, as for Pier Antonio Panzeri and Marc Tarabella, all charged and placed under arrest warrant in the investigation into alleged acts of corruption within the European Parliament.
“I really thought she should and was going to be released, at least on an electronic bracelet,” reacts Sven Mary, her new lawyer. “So I blame it, but I can’t imagine for her. I’m sad she’s not released and I still think she’s a trophy. Except that she is not only a vice-president of the European Parliament, Eva Kaili is also a mother. A mother who sees her 24-month-old baby twice a month. I respect this decision but I contest it and I will appeal tomorrow, ”punctuates the criminal.
