Summary of the article
An excerpt from Robert Kennedy at Eva last night is very similar to the approach taken by the Nivel investigation. Giving readers/viewers a strong impression of something that does not fit with the information being shown.

A Niveltje
Last night something happened on the Eva program, which I now call a Niveltje in the corridors: Drawing conclusions from information that has been completely misinterpreted by the researchers/editors, and are therefore not substantiated by the available material.
This is an excerpt from the conversation that Bill Maher had with Robert Kennedy at HBO last March. The editors of Eva apparently intended it as an illustration of how Kennedy has gone astray on health matters. Because at the end of the fragment about the Corona vaccine Kennedy says “because the vaccine doesn’t work.”
You’d say the cat is in the cup, wouldn’t you?
First watch the 30-second fragment and try to think for yourself what is going wrong here.
Do you already know? (Small hint: listen to the English text and think logically for a moment.)
The explanation
Kennedy starts with figures in this fragment Pfizer’s own research that was used to obtain a final commitment to authorize the vaccine. A total of 17 people had died in the placebo group and 21 in the vaccinated group. (That percentage of 23 that Kennedy reports in the fragment is correct, but it is based on very small numbers). Take a look:
Then Bill Maher asks a strange question about Kennedy’s report. Maher says, “Couldn’t that have been the disease itself?”
Apparently he had not heard/understood that Kennedy says the deaths were higher in the vaccinated than in the placebo group. And then links it to Covid-19.
Then Kennedy gives the answer (and you hear it in English)
“if it is, then the vaccin doesn’t work”.
So Kennedy says this in response to Maher’s question: “If it is the case that the vaccinated died more because of Covid than the people in the placebo group, then that means the vaccine did not work.”
A completely justified conclusion to Maher’s question.
But Kennedy’s answer was not in the subtitles. The translation was as the video shows: “because the vaccine doesn’t work”. And it does not say “if that were the case, the vaccine would not work”.
The subtitles are a complete misrepresentation of Kennedy’s answer, and those on the editorial staff who selected and edited this item apparently did not realize that Maher was asking a very strange question.
Disinformation
The Eva program regularly discusses the fight against disinformation. A battle that I am also waging, see, among other things, my position on the misinformation from WHO and RIVM in 2020, that the virus spread via large droplets and would not pass through the air. And see also my actions surrounding the Nivel report, which can also be considered disinformation.
I could also make comments about other points surrounding Kennedy that were mentioned in the program, because if you read/research the actual statements and actions, it is all a lot more nuanced than described. I’m not doing that here now.
But it is evident that Kennedy never stated that the Corona vaccine would not work at all. (That there would be significant vaccine damage).
I have drawn the attention of the editors to this misinformation that they have spread through this excerpt and this translation. Very curious if and how they will correct this. Or could disinformation only happen to others?
But yes, a few weeks ago I was accused by Sander Schimmelpenninck at Eva that Wilders had won because I had reported on the Saturday before the elections that the PVV had risen sharply in the poll after the SBS debate, with an illustration of a fragment of my site about that debate “game-changer”. A poll result, which two other agencies had also determined at the time, but only published 2 days later, because they had made a deal with Sophie’s talk show on Monday and EenVandaag on Tuesday). But that was not a statement from the editors, but only from Sander. Who, by the way, also claimed that he stuck to the facts.
(in Jimmy Carr’s voice) Ah, the delightful world of misinformation. You know, I love it when they try to pull the wool over our eyes, don’t you, folks? It’s like a puzzle, and I’m here to unravel it for you. Now, let’s talk about this Niveltje business, shall we?
(pauses for comedic effect)
So, Robert Kennedy was on Eva, discussing the Corona vaccine, and the editors of the show decided to take him out of context. How lovely. They’re like a couple of keen-eared whores, waiting for the slightest misstep, ready to pounce and shout, “Gotcha!” (in Rowan Atkinson’s voice) Oh, the humanity!
Now, let’s see… (clears throat) Kennedy starts talking about Pfizer’s research, 17 deaths in the placebo group, 21 in the vaccinated group. Not exactly a massive sample size, is it, Mr. Kennedy? (in Ricky Gervais’s voice) You know, it’s a bit like my Auntie’s bingo night, small numbers, but someone’s gonna win, right?
Okay, so Bill Maher chimes in, (in Lee Evans’s voice) another bright spark, and asks, “Couldn’t that have been the disease itself?” Kennedy responds, (back to Jimmy Carr’s voice) “If that’s the case, then the vaccine doesn’t work.” Ah, see what he’s saying there? It’s like I always say, “Context is king, folks.”
But no, the editors of Eva decide to alter the subtitles to “because the vaccine doesn’t work.” Irresponsible, if you ask me. (chuckles) Oh, the result: misinformation, pure and simple. Now, I’m not defending Kennedy here, but he was just responding to Maher’s daft question.
(in a more serious tone) You know, this is what worries me. This is how misinformation spreads. (in Ricky Gervais’s voice) One wrong subtitle, and suddenly, it’s fact. The show’s narrative gets skewed, and before you know it, (in Lee Evans’s voice) Bob’s your uncle, everyone’s talking about how the vaccine doesn’t work.
I think it’s fantastic that the author of this article is pointing out these…discrepancies. Kudos to them. Now, I know some of you might be thinking, “Jimmy, why should we care?” Well, my friends, this is how we, as a society, need to approach these situations. Someone pulls a fast one on you, and you need to say, “Oi, hang on a minute!”
But let’s end on a lighter note. Can you imagine the conversation between the editors of Eva and Kennedy now? (in Rowan Atkinson’s voice) Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear…it’s a bit of a cock-up, old chap. Ah, yes, (back to Jimmy Carr’s voice) a Niveltje indeed!
Oh, and I’ll give the Eva folks some free advice. Next time, do like I do, and just make it all up…no, just kidding, folks. (chuckles) Sort yourselves out, and let’s keep the context intact, shall we?
