Eutelsat Communications: PCTV increases video services across Latin America with multi-year contract on EUTELSAT 117 West A satellite

PCTV, a subsidiary of Mexico’s leading cable operator Megacable Comunicaciones, has once again increased capacity on Eutelsat Communications’ (Euronext Paris: ETL) (Paris:ETL) EUTELSAT 117 West A satellite under a multi-year contract. Further reinforcing a decade-long partnership between PCTV and Eutelsat, this new agreement expands PCTV Mexico’s video services to countries throughout the Latin American region.

PCTV is an innovator in content production and distribution, offering a wide range of integrated media solutions to accompany its customers. The company operates a video distribution platform on 117° West, providing TV channels to control centers in cable TV systems in Mexico and throughout Latin America. The new features of EUTELSAT 117 West A will enable PCTV to provide a wider range of video services, expanding its current reach by accessing new and untapped markets.

Eutelsat’s 117° West location is the top TV zone in Latin America, offering pan-regional distribution from major networks and content providers. With an extremely high penetration of control centers in cable TV systems, over 92% of the main pay TV operators in Latin America receive their content from 117° West. Around 400 TV channels, 80 in HD, are currently distributed to more than 45 million TV households. 117° West is also a growing free-to-air TV zone, with 100 free-to-air TV channels, including channels from major regional public and private broadcasters.
