It is still unclear whether the students ate these extremely spicy Paqui chips. They are sold as part of the “One Chip Challenge” in the USA and Canada.

15 students from the German city of Euskirchen ate very spicy chips because of a Tiktok challenge – and mightn’t tolerate it.

They needed emergency medical treatment, and a total of seven ambulances were deployed.

Time and once more, participants are injured in connection with Tiktok challenges.

In a comprehensive school in the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Euskirchen, 15 students had to be treated by the emergency services – because they had previously eaten extremely hot chili chips. The incident happened as part of a Tiktok challenge. Apparently, the students suffered so much pain from eating that the school felt compelled to call the emergency services. This is reported by the “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger”.

Around twelve o’clock, the emergency services moved out to the comprehensive school with a large contingent, including seven ambulances. According to headmaster Thomas Müller, the children’s eyes had to be rinsed out – presumably because they had residue from the chips on their fingers and had rubbed their eyes with them. The paramedics also gave them milk to drink. But no one was seriously injured.

Was it the Hottest Chip Challenge?

It is not yet known exactly which chips the children ate. However, it is conceivable that it is the “Hottest Chip Challenge”, which is currently causing a stir on Tiktok. In this challenge, participants eat a single Paqui brand chip. This is actually delivered individually and is extremely hot due to the red pepper it contains. Most who participate in the challenge keep the chip in their mouth for less than a minute. However, the manufacturer’s website points out that the chips are only available in the USA and Canada.

In the past, children and young people have repeatedly injured themselves as part of Tiktok challenges, some even seriously. So retired 16 year old from North Carolina severe burns all over his body – in the unsuccessful challenge he had previously had to spray highly flammable spray paint into a lighter. The can exploded, burning 75 percent of the boy’s skin. One 16-year-old Swiss woman suffered a concussion as part of the “Skullbreaker Challenge” and had to be treated in the hospital.
